Meet "Sophie"
Sophie was born in 2001. She is a mix of
Redbone and Walker coonhounds. We rescued Sophie from a pretty
bad situation. She is the only girl dog, and everyone in the
house knows it.
Sophie has been crowned "Sophie the Warrior Princess". She is
the official hunter and killer of all things evil. She earned
her title shortly after we witnessed her climbing a tree trying
to get a squirrel (literally going 12' up a vertical tree with
no limbs), and then catching and killing a snake that was in its
defensive position (it was the blood all over her that earned
her the title)
We have to be careful with her about getting out of the house or
their pen... if she gets a scent of something, she is gone.
Other than her official title "Warrior Princess", Sophie has
other nicknames like "Princess", "soap-a-dope", "Sophia", and of
course "THE BITCH".
